Wild Turkey Federation comes through

South Boston News
For the past 15 years, the Halifax County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, with the help of The Good Samaritan and South Boston Food Lion, has made Thanksgiving more memorable to those in need with its annual turkey distribution drive. On Monday, the chapter delivered approximately 500 pounds of turkeys (38 turkeys) to The Good Samaritan, the Department of Social Services and churches to distribute to Halifax County families in need. The Good Samaritan contributed dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, corn and cranberry sauce so that families will have a complete Thanksgiving meal. The Halifax County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation welcomes new members. Anyone interested in joining can contact David Vaughn at 434-222-4676. Above, Vaughan presents the 38 turkeys to individuals and participating organizations.
