Derby girls host Christmas party

SoVaNow.com / November 29, 2012
Those rowdy roller derby girls are at it again, this time celebrating the season and raising money.

The SoVa Roller Derby League is throwing a party — The Wenches Who Stole Christmas — Saturday, Dec. 15, starting at 8:30 p.m. at Spare Times Bar and Grill at the World of Sports.

5 Leaf Clover and Symptoms of Addiction will play; raffles, food and drink will be available.

For $5, enter the Mrs. Claus sexy costume contest. First, second and third place winners get a prize.

Proper identification is required.

Derby hats and shirts will also be for sale.

Tickets are $5 in advance – buy from a derby girl or contact them through Facebook – or $7 at the door.

All proceeds go to helping the roller derby team get its insurance. The women are prepared to start bouting in April.
