HCLT prepares for Dinner Theatre
SoVaNow.com / August 23, 2012Halifax County Little Theatre has a reputation for bringing great entertainment to our community, and when they team up with Caffé Peroni this fall, the results will be something really unique in South Boston: Downtown Dinner Theatre!
Audiences will enjoy a social hour, a fantastic four course meal prepared by chef Saul Montes-Bradley, and the luxury of sitting back and being entertained with a lighthearted one-act play presented by HCLT right in the restaurant. What a fantastic night out, and proceeds will help support Little Theatre’s main stage theatre productions this year at The Prizery.
This special offering will be presented just three nights: on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, Sept. 13, 14, and 15. Each night will kick off at 6:15 p.m. with a wine and beer tasting event presented by Blue Ridge Beverage Company, along with light appetizers. Dinner will be served at 7, and the play will follow at 8.
Restaurant owner and Chef Montes-Bradley has been excited about hosting a dinner theatre night for some time, and HCLT has found the perfect play to fit this venue with Ellen Cribbs’ comedy “I Love You… and You and You.”
Directed by Johnny Berry, this little lighthearted gem takes a look at one man’s history of almost perfect relationships and the panic those “three little words” always seem to cause. As he tells about all his break-ups, he realizes that one of these girls is actually THE love of his life. The audience will vote to determine which girl is his perfect mate, and the ending can be different at each performance.
Space is limited to only 40 tickets per night, so don’t hesitate to buy your tickets and make your menu selection for the night of your choice. Tickets are $40 per person, which include the wine and beer tasting, dinner, and the play. Tickets are available at Caffé Peroni in downtown South Boston or at The Peddler’s Market in downtown Halifax. Dinner theater in South Boston? Of course you want to go.
