Museum open house Sunday
SoVaNow.com / December 02, 2013Christmas tradition with a train emphasis is the theme of the South Boston/Halifax County Museum’s holiday display this year.
Come to the Open House on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2-3:30 p.m. to kick off your season.
There will be model train layouts, a display of rooms of the past ready for the holidays, pictures with Santa, light refreshments, and the chance to see the new historic display in the caboose.
Ron and Judith Miller are doing the scenery of Halifax County train stations of the 1930’-40s and there will be era style trains running through the layout.
Kids of all ages will really enjoy this! Additionally, Lynne Curley will be doing a live demonstration of spinning wool in one of the room areas.
That’s a lot of fun to pack into one afternoon. Call the museum for details at 572-9200.
