South Boston announces Christmas Parade theme

SoVaNow.com / July 15, 2013
Destination Downtown South Boston has announced the theme for this year's South Boston Christmas Parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m.

The theme this year is "Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child". Parade Coordinator Sara Davis said, "The Christmas Parade Committee chose this theme because it gives everyone an opportunity to show their creativity and interpretation about what “Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child” means to them.

Davis said she starts getting phone calls and questions from churches and non-profit organizations in early July asking about the theme so they can start meeting and planning their float or entry.

Anyone with questions about the parade or how to participate can call Davis at 434-575-4208 or visit http://www.downtownsobo.com to download a parade application.
