Theatre Camp sleepover

South Boston News / February 16, 2010
THEATRE CAMP SLEEPOVER - Halifax County Middle School students ham it up with sleeping bags, pillows, and toothbrushes to kick off publicity for the first ever Theatre Camp Sleepover at The Prizery for ages 8-13. Surrounding director Sandy Slayton, seated right, are, from lower left, Jordan Carr, Cassie Smith, Emily Slayton, Jamie Lykes II, Jarrett Messick, LaShawn Claughton, and Joshua Rice. The fun starts Friday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. as the kids rehearse on stage, and create props, sets, and costumes based on stories from children's literature. Kids then will have the option to sleep over on the stage (well supervised) or go home and return early Saturday morning. After breakfast Saturday morning, the children will rehearse until the 11:30 a.m. free performance for family and friends. The $40 cost includes theatre experience, late night pizza, breakfast, snacks, a souvenir t-shirt, and an unforgettable weekend. To sign up, call The Prizery at 572-8339, Slayton at 579-5041, or see
