Wine Fest: A good time to be had by all / April 08, 2015
The Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome guests to town this Saturday for the Lake Country Wine Festival and all that is in store this weekend.

The weather the last few years for the Wine Festival has proven to be a great — and the weekend forecast is promising, with sunny skies and temperatures predicted in the low 70s.

You can visit the Clarksville Lake Country Wine Festival’s Facebook page for daily updates. Wine Fest tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office or at The Galleria, A&K Dock Service, Century 21 on the Lake, Cooper’s Landing Inn & Traveler’s Tavern, Virginia Avenue Mall or online until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

Here are some of highlights of the weekend:

There will be a 5K run (hosted by the Growing to Learn class at Clarksville Elementary School)

Seaplane Splash-in (sponsored by Mecklenburg County Tourism)

Sidewalk sales and specials downtown and around town.

Chamber notes on the Wine Festival:

We encourage locals to bring a lawn chair if they like. The layout has changed to add room for extra seating near the live music area, and more tables and chairs will be added. It’s going to just a great afternoon sipping wine and relaxing in downtown Clarksville.

We have 15 wineries: one new entry and three that haven’t been here for a couple of years.

Craft beer is back. For those who may not like wine, please note the beer is not a sipping venue, so it will be $4 a glass. Danville Distributing will be bringing three different brews from Virginia breweries.

Crowd favorites Jeff and Brian are back again to entertain us with their music. This duo has been playing music together for more than 11 years. Their music tastes run from Van Morrison to Bob Segar to the Allman Brothers — the best of rock, blues, and pop.

Food vendors on site will be Cooper’s Landing Inn, Dreamz Seafood Market and The Lamplighter Restaurant.

Selected vendors from cigars, gourmet cheese, peanuts, wine décor and accessories will be inside the gate area for guests to peruse.
