Mrs. Virginia crowned

The Colonial Center in South Hill hosted the Mrs. Virginia America Pageant for a second time Saturday night. The pageant featured 14 married women from all across the state competing for the title. The top eight finalists are Jennifer Phillips, Mrs. New Kent County; Rae Pearson Benn, Mrs. Virginia Beach; Lindsay Eure, Mrs. Chesapeake and fourth runner-up; Shena Mason, Mrs. Richmond and first runner-up; Mrs. Virginia America Brandi Pope, who competed as Mrs. Midlothian; Cheryl Nelson-Savolskis, Mrs. Smithfield and third runner-up; Eileen Vega, Mrs. Woodbridge and second runner-up; and Richelle Jones, Mrs. Fairfax County. In the photo at top right, Mrs. Mecklenburg, Shauna Newcomb of Chase City won the Non-Finalist Evening Gown award as well as the Community Service Award.
