WIND BENEATH THE WINGS DONATES TO HAITI RELIEF — Members of Wind Beneath the Wings, Inc. on Monday evening presented Ginger Weaver, Director of the local Red Cross chapter, with a $500 check to benefit the Haiti Relief. Wind Beneath the Wings, Inc. is a not for profit organization whose mission is to enhance the educational and cultural activities of youths. Pictured seated are Sharon Medley, Blondine Duncan, Carolyn Penick, Alma Somerville and standing Sandra Vass, Weaver, Mattie Cowan, President of WBTW and Gloria Coles. HCCA Foundation of Hope donation

Cluster Springs Elementary School raised $1,159 for the Richie Dunavant Children's Foundation of Hope and those children in our area battling cancer. Pictured left to right are: Ethan Reaves, Clara Rogers, HCCA, Savannah Reaves, Marliss Barczak, Associate Principal and a cancer survivor and Jackson Dunavant. Cluster Springs Elementary participated in "Coins for a Cause," raising needed funds for this special children's foundation. All funds collected will stay in Halifax County to provide children ages newborn to 21 with cancer related medications and supplies, gas to travel to the doctor, overnight stays for families with their child in the hospital, wigs/turbans, medical bills, tutoring, scholarships, a helping hand, prayers and much more.
