Winterizing your garden

Master Gardener Kathy Conner Cornell recently presented “Putting Your Garden to Bed so it Wakes up Energized in the Spring” at the So-Bo Halifax Museum. An important aspect of winterizing is tool maintenance. Tools should be disinfected, cleaned, sharpened and lightly oiled before winter storage. Pictured are Cynthia Loudermilk, Bill Wood and Jewell Giles maintaining tools with Doris Koch looking on. If you would like to know more about the Southside Master Gardener Association and its many programs, contact Bill McCaleb at 434-476-2147. If you are interested in activities and garden lectures at the museum, contact Beth Redd at 434-572-9200.
