Bible Study by Dena Stevens for April 25, 2013 / April 25, 2013
Ezek. 27:27 “Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers” (all those who keep his ship afloat) “and the occupiers” (merchants and traders) “of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.” When is the day of Satan’s ruin? It’s when Christ returns as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Ezek. 27:28 “The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.” There will be screams of fright as that old ship goes on the rocks. There is no salvation in that so-called ‘savior’ because he is a fake. They have boarded the wrong boat.

Ezek. 27:29 “And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;” Those who know the difference between Christ and Antichrist will not board Satan’s ship. There will be some who had heard and believed that Antichrist is coming first, but they didn’t do anything with it. Now, they remember having heard it, and they will not be fooled.

Ezek. 27:30 “And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee,” (not for you, Satan, but against you’) “and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads,” (a symbol of mourning) “they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:” Why will they do that? They realize that they have been deceived.

Ezek. 27:31 “And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee,” (they pull their hair out) “and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart” (translate this as ‘soul’) “and bitter wailing.” There will be bitter wailing, alright; to the point they will be begging the mountains to fall on them. (See also Rev. 6:16).

Ezek. 27:32 “And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?” Some will be lamenting because it’s all over. It was profitable for them. In Revelation 18:18, we read that when Babylon was destroyed, people lamented, saying “What city is like unto this great city?” (19) “And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! For in one hour is she made desolate.” The things of this world are very temporal. There’s nothing wrong with being rich in this world so long as those riches are blessings from God. It’s ill-gotten gains that are wrong.

Ezek. 27:33 “When thy wares” (Antichrist’s system) “went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.” Trade, trade, trade. Everyone had what they wanted.

Ezek. 27:34 “In the time when thou shalt be broken (wrecked) by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company” (everyone connected with it) “in the midst of thee shall fall.” It doesn’t pay to do business with Satan’s system. You will lose. Put your security in the eternal things of our Father.

Ezek. 27:35 “All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.” You will be able to see the pain on their faces.

Ezek. 27:36 “The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee;” (they realize the deception) “thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.” At the end of the Millennium, Satan goes into the Lake of Fire and is destroyed; never to be around to cause all the problems he has caused in this earth ate. O happy day!
