Bible Study by Dena Stevens for March 14, 2013
SoVaNow.com / March 14, 2013In fact, it says in Rev. 18:22. “And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee: and no craftsman of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee: and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee:” In the 16th verse of that same chapter, they are saying: “…..Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!” (17) “For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off.” They couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
Ezek. 26:14 “And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon;” (in fact, today it’s a flat rocky place, not inhabited except for the men who go there to fish off the island) “Thou shalt be built no more:” (and it has not been) “For I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord God.” Satan’s empire and all the roles he has played, will be destroyed when Christ returns, and will never be again.
Ezek. 26:15 “Thus saith the Lord God to Tyrus: Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall,”(‘Will there not be a quaking?’) “when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?” It was certainly heard and felt when the rocks were pushed into place by the working men of Alexander the Great, and it will be heard and felt when it happens at the end of the tribulation and Christ returns, and His feet touch down on the Mount of Olives. The ‘slaughter’ refers to the souls that are going to die as a result of worshipping Satan.
Ezek. 26:16 “Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments” (there will be no more rulers-Christ will return as King of kings and Lord of lords) “they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee.” Many will be astonished at that moment, when they see the True Christ returning, and realize that the one they had been worshipping; the one who had claimed to be the real Jesus, was a fake. They will be praying for the mountains to fall on them (Luke 23:30; Rev. 6:16).
Ezek. 26:17 “And they shall take up a lamentation for thee” (that’s a funeral dirge; this is saying, ‘they’re going to be singing a sad song for you, O Tyrus’) “and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea” (Satan’s evil system among the people seemed to be going well for them while Antichrist was controlling things) “she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!” The ships of commerce ruled the world in that day, as they ripped off people with their ‘buy low, sell high’ merchandise. The one-world religious system of antichrist will be riding high, ripping people off by deceit; winning the souls who are ignorant of God’s Word, and who will swallow their lies hook, line and sinker.
Ezek. 26:18 “Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; Yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure.” ‘Isles of the sea’ can mean ‘all around the world’. The people who fare so well while Satan is in control will be scared at the prospect of losing all they have. That’s going to mess up things for them.
Ezek. 26:19 “For thus saith the Lord God; When I shall make thee a desolate city,” (when this time comes to pass) “Like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;’ (20) “When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit,” (Who goes into the pit? Who is put into the abyss? Satan, of course) “With the people of old time” (this is speaking of the first earth age, and that 1/3 who followed Satan at his fall) “And shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;” Who are they? They are the ones who are eternally living with Almighty God. Things are going to be a whole lot better with Satan out of the way.
Ezek. 26:21 “I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more:” This is a city and a system; equivalent to the beast and the false prophet being thrown into the lake of fire; they no longer exist, and Satan and his ministers are going to join them (Rev. 20:10) “though thou be sought for,” (even though Satan, when he is released for a short season near the end of the Millennium, will try to start up his empire again), “yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord God.” Satan will be no more, and there will be no more evil in the world when he is gone. Can you see why it’s so dangerous to believe that Christians are going to fly out of the world before Satan comes in the tribulation? The ones who are deceived at Satan’s arrival, claiming to be Jesus, will be looking for Jesus to come first and ‘rapture’ them away. And, because they do not know that Satan is coming first; even looking like we think Jesus looks, they will worship and serve him. Seven times in this chapter, God identified Himself as being the one who is speaking, letting us know that it is His warning to all who will listen.
The antichrist, Satan, is coming just as God has told us. Many Christians will be deceived and lose their eternal life. The time is short. No wonder God is trying so hard to warn us before it’s too late.
