Bible Study for Dena Stevens for Sept. 12, 2013 / September 12, 2013
Ezek. 32:15 “When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate,” (this means to come under the control of the ‘desolator’: Satan) “and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all of them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the Lord.” God has already promised Egypt that she would always be a nation—a small nation in influence and power, but, nevertheless, a nation continually. We know this Scripture is future, because this is speaking of the time when Egypt’s identity will no longer be important, although it is the oldest continuous nation in the world. They will be just another nation within the one-world system.

Ezek. 32:16 “This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord God.” The one-world system involves all nations, so all nations will lament for Egypt. Here we have one little nation that had been in continuous existence as a nation, coming to an end as it is enveloped into the one-world system.

Ezek. 32:17 “It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,” (18) “Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down” (this is saying: ‘Declare by lamentation; that sad song, a funeral dirge, that they shall fall’) “even her, and the daughters of the famous nations” (that’s the super-powers; all those will fall under the power of Satan’s spell) “unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.” This means a place of degradation; the place where Satan will be bound for the Millennium period. Why will they all go down into the pit with him? This is not the final pit; the lake of fire, but is a place of degradation for those who will not accept the Truth. When they realize they have been worshipping the wrong Jesus, they will think they are going to die.

Ezek. 32:19 “Whom dost thou pass in beauty?” (‘Are you any different from the other nations, even the super-powers? Are you above Satan?’) “Go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.” Who is the most beautiful of God’s creation? Satan. We just read in the 28th Chapter where God said, “Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.” Father said that He made Satan, that ‘cherub that covereth’, the ‘full pattern’. His beauty is second only to that of Christ, but Christ was not ‘created’ as was Satan—Christ is the ‘only begotten son’. The ‘uncircumcised’ means a shameful death. It is used ten times in this chapter alone, to show the shame, the disgrace that false religion will bring on those who follow it. The ‘rapture doctrine’ is a false religion; as false as false can be, because it is not a part of the Word of God: man takes some things from Scripture and puts his own ‘spin’ on it and makes himself a ‘security blanket’ to hide the fact that he will have to go through the tribulation, and it will lead people to the false ‘messiah’. Some people fail to understand that God’s wrath is not directed at those who are faithful to Him, but to His enemies, only. So, they miss so much of God’s Truth just by believing what man tells them rather than studying the Word to see what God has told us concerning that time. God is not happy about it one bit.

Ezek. 32:20 “They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword:” (That sword of Satan’s lies) “she is delivered to the sword: draw her” (drag her) “and all her multitudes” (majority). The ’sword’ from Satan’s mouth are lies; the negative of the two-edged sword from the mouth of Christ, which is Truth. The majority of people in the world will be deceived in the near future, when Satan comes for his tribulation reign.

Ezek. 32:21 “The strong” (the strongest, or chiefest) “among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell” (Sheol; grave; burial place) “with them that help him” (these are the deceived speaking, saying, ‘Why did you do this to us?) “They are gone down, they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised,” (degraded) “slain” (slain spiritually) “by the sword.” Spiritually slain by what ‘sword’? When the Holy Spirit speaks through the Elect who are delivered up to Satan, and the Truth comes forth, the deceived will be ‘slain’ by hearing God’s Word, His ‘sword’. That’s the effect that the Word has on sinful people.

Ezek. 32:23 “Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.” ‘Land of the living’ is the place with Christ, who is the firstfruit among the living; those who are spiritually alive; saved, having eternal life. That’s the opposite of the land of the spiritually dead. This ‘terror’, meaning a paralyzing fear, as when the Two Witnesses come back to life, and the people are seized with a paralyzing fear, as we read in Rev. 11:11.
