Clover II News for May 19, 2016 / May 19, 2016

How excellent is the name of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, He is just so worthy to be praised.

The readers of Clover 11 are feeling so blessed this past week, because God has been so good to them. God has continued to keep all the bad weather from harming us. There has been flooding in some areas, strong winds, and also damaging hail, but God has kept us safe. Makes you want to say God we will praise you no matter what.

We are continuing to send out graduation congratulations to ones in the community. We are so proud of them for achieving this great accomplishment. Angelica Delaware is so proud of her son De ’Andre Delaware for walking across the stage at VSU. Also sending shouts out to Demetric Hunt, and William ‘Bill’ Bryant for doing their thing. If there are names I didn’t mention in the community, we are congratulating you also. To all that have celebrated a birthday since we last spoke, happy birthday to you. We noticed that Elsie Griles, Gracie Grinnan, and Riley Coles all celebrated another year of being in the land of the living last week.

Celebrating an anniversary were Johnnie and Denise Delaware, we say hurray to you and God bless. To any others we are send blessings your way also. Wonder how I know about these days, well I am looking at my birthday calendar, that was put together by the pastor’s aides members of the St. Matthew Baptist Church. We soon will be taking orders for next year, so please make plains to buy one. The cost is only $6, so please purchase one.

Worship service was at Zion Grove Baptist church this pass Sunday, starting at 11:30 a.m. Associate minister Rev. Morris Mitchell call the congregation to order and the senior choir opened service with a well-known hymn “What a fellowship”, which was very fitting being they were celebrating their 136 churches anniversary. Velma Crews did an excellent job at presenting the church’s history. Jermaine Vaughters and Ni’Cere White represented the youth by doing a small presentation. A special memorial was done for two members that had passed on, Elnora Eubanks and Elizabeth Bryant. The oldest living member, Gracie Scott was also there, to receive her flowers. She thanked the church and asked of prayers from all.

The preached word was then delivered by Rev. Michael Byrd, associate minister from Berry Hill Baptist church. His sermon came from Psalm 103, and the title was “Just Bless God”. After a very timely message was delivered lunch was served in the fellowship hall. Their prayer list continues to include the following names, Ernest Powell and John Lacks.

The Missionary Society of the St. Matthew Baptist church also celebrated their anniversary Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. Rev. Paul O. Crews, pastor of the Millstone Baptist Church along with his choir, ushers and members of the church were our guest. His message came from Luke the 10th chapter starting at the 30th verse, telling us to simply “Stick to the Plan”. Many missionaries from other churches were in attendance. Afternoon was enjoyed by all.

Well that’s what happened around Clover this past week. Praying that all stay safe and in fairly good health. Remember to pray for your brother and sisters and visit the sick and shut in.

God Bless.
