Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude “Gather Us In” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “Stand Up and Bless the Lord” by the choir. Rev. Kerry Halbert had welcome remarks and announcements and hymn of praise was “America The Beautiful.” Offertory hymn was “As a Fire is Meant for Burning” and choir anthem was “The Battle Hymn of Republic.” Rev. Kerry Halbert read II Kings 5: 1-4 and his message “Choosing to Let Her Light Shine.” Hymn of response was “The Old Rugged Cross” and Rev. Halbert had welcome remarks and announcements and closing hymn was “The Spirit of the Living God.” Rev. Halbert had dismissal blessing and benediction was “Jesus Is All the World To Me.” Tim Snead was acolyte and usher.

Worship service at Clover UMC opened with the prelude “At the Name of Jesus” played by Joyce Edmondson and call to worship was “My Faith Still Holds” by the choir. Rev. Halbert had welcome remarks and announcements and hymn of praise was “America.” Offertory hymn was “In His Time” and ushers were Edd Edmondson and Jim Smith. Choir anthem was “America The Beautiful” and Rev. Halbert read II Kings 5: 1-4 and his message “Choosing to Let Her Light Shine.” Hymn of response was “Blest Be the Tie That Binds” and Rev. Halbert had dismissal blessing and benediction was “Thank You Lord.” Abby Martin and Mattie Martin were acolytes.

Charles Ferguson and friends hosted a cookout at his home Saturday and everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship. Joey and Kathy Satterfield, from Georgia, visited with Charles on Friday. Thomas Hudson and family, from Greensboro, were weekend guests.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to those celebrating this week.
