AARP #4327 MEETS MARCH 17
AARP #4327 will meet at First Baptist Church, N. Main Street, South Boston on March 17 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Pampeo of Good Shepherd Outreach Mission will present the program. The Rotary Club is sponsoring a Bowl-A-Thon to benefit several non-profit organizations on Saturday, March 21 at the World of Sports. The Mentor/Role Model Program, Inc. is one of the beneficiaries of this event. Anyone interested in forming a team or supporting a team with a monetary contribution should call 575-3011.

OAK LEVEL FIRE DEPT. BREAKFAST MARCH 21
The Oak Level Volunteer Fire Department will have a breakfast on Saturday, March 21 from 7:00-9:00 a.m. with a menu of ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, grits, sausage gravy and biscuits. Coffee and orange juice will be available also. There is a cost per plate. Please come out and enjoy the food and fellowship and support your local fire department!

CRUZ-IN AT ROXBORO COMMUNITY SCHOOL MARCH 21
A Cruz-In will be held Saturday, March 21 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Old Tultex Building, East Roxboro. A bazaar will be held, along with a BBQ. Vehicles will be parked on concrete paving and no fee will be charged. The event is sponsored by the Freedom Cruisers Car Club, Roxboro.

SPRING HUNTER EDUCATION SAFETY CLASSES MARCH 21-22
Spring Hunter Education Safety Class, sponsored by the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, will be held March 21-22 at the Halifax Fire Department from 1:00-6:00 p.m. each day. You must attend both sessions to receive certification. Youth participants must be in at least the 4th grade. This session is FREE and all materials are provided. North Halifax Ladies Auxiliary Turkey Luncheon Sunday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m. Menu consists of turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, string beans, bread, cranberry sauce, beverage and dessert. Carry-out plates available. There is a charge per meal.

WOMAN'S CLUB OF HALIFAX HOSTS BREAKFAST MARCH 28
The Woman's Club of Halifax County will host a breakfast at Applebee's Saturday March 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with proceeds going to the Mental Health America of Halifax County. Tickets can be purchased from any club member or Atlantic Medical, Pulmonary Associates of Southside, Riverdale Auto Parts and Halifax Florist and they will available at the door.

sponsoring financial aid workshops for the month of March on
Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at noon at the
Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. Those students
who will be starting college in the Summer or Fall 2009 term
are encouraged to sign up for one of these free workshops.
