David Stevens, of South Boston, and Helen Consuella Crews Martin, of Louisiana, would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Lynn Stevens to Kenneth (Trey) White III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. White of Alton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Shirley Stevens and the late Frank Stevens of South Boston, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Crews of Nathalie. She is a graduate of Halifax County High School.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. White of Halifax, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wallen of Halifax, the late George Dyer, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hornick of Charlotte, N.C. He is a graduate of Halifax County High School and is employed by Dodson Pest Control.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. at Black Walnut Baptist Church, Alton. No formal invitations will be sent, all friends and family are invited to attend.
