Sunday, call to worship was “He Looked Beyond My Fault” by the choir at Hitesburg Baptist Church. The Reverend Mike Riley read the announcements and welcomed everyone. He also read a couple of thank you cards from Doris and Erwin Hunt and Pastor Glen Faulkner. Hymn was “Amazing Grace.” The children had Mission Friends and Kids in Action. Prayer time ended with a prayer from the Deacon of the Week, Dean Elliott. Hymn was “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Choir special was “How Long Has It Been?.” Everyone fellowshipped with one another while Deborah Pulliam, pianist/organist, played a couple of verses. The Rev. Riley brought the sermon entitiled “Hearts, Tongues and Judgement.” Scripture came from Matthew 12:33-37, Mark 8:38, Proverbs 21:23 and Psalms 141:3. Hymn was “Wherever He Leads I’ll Go.” Visitors at HBC Sunday included Robert Shepard, Rena and a couple of others.

Recently, Norma Elliott and Estelle Morris visited Mrs. Violet O’Geary and Heiter and Betty Griffin. Monday, Norma visited Alma Sibley.

Those visiting Ruth Overby recently included Delores Hamlett, Rocki Hamlett and another one of her friends. Those visiting her throughout the week included Lloyd Allen, Mary Elliott, Elizabeth Gielow, Mitzie Waller and Leslie Overby. Ruth went with the church group from Seven Oaks Baptist Church to Lancaster, Penn. for a few days during the week. They all enjoyed seeing a live production of Moses while there.

Last Tuesday, Judy Stone visited Johnnie and Julia Rice. Paula Stone, Lindsey Stone and Sidney Stone went to a birthday party for Cale Bowen and Kennedy at Cluster Springs swimming pool Saturday.

Melvin and Hollis Bowen visited Mrs. Alice Bowen over the weekend. Saturday, Kathy Babel and Ethan Babel visited Mrs. Bowen as well. Also Saturday, Alan Hudson visited Melvin.

Friday, Abraham Tillotson visited Bob and Debora Puckett and Jon Puckett in Rougemont, NC. Saturday evening, he went to the Halifax County High School to hear The Easter Family and The Easter Brothers perform some gospel music.

Kathy Babel and Ethan Babel spent the weekend with Johnny and Martha Szynklewski. Kathy, Ethan, Melvin and Hollis Bowen, Johnny and Martha had supper with Alice Bowen Saturday evening.

Saturday, Parker Arrington visited with his grandparents, Dean and Ann Elliott. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott visited with Matt and Kristen Gosney at their new home they are building.

Remember the sick, lost and those who have lost loved ones including the Prentice Gupton family, the A.J. Sizemore family and the Joyce Keeton family. Remember our great country, HBC, hospital and nursing home patients, the lost, people serving on mission, and each other as well. Also, remember our troops including Mariah Johns Adkins, Timmy Wilkinson, Brandon Barksdale, Jesse Lee Seamons, Jonathon Fisher, Jamie Epps and Dan Elliott, BIRTHDAYS: Ruth Overby, Sue Riley, Angela Nunez, Marie Overby, Steve Wilkins, Traci Terry Throckmorton, Lauren Daniel, Doyle Allen, Jimmy Seate, Reverend Mike Riley.
