Sunday, call to worship was “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” by the choir at Hitesburg Baptist Church. The Reverend Mike Riley read the announcements and welcomed everyone. Carl Daniel spoke about the Men’s Conference that he and other gentlemen of the church attended Friday and Saturday. Ronnie Lloyd also spoke of his experiences there. Hymn was “Blessed Be the Name.” Prayer time ended with a prayer from Johnny Szynklewski. The Deacon of the Week is James Hart. Hymn was “O How I Love Jesus.” The choir special was “Remind Me Dear Lord.” Everyone fellowshipped with one another while Deborah Pulliam, pianist/organist, played a couple of verses. The Rev. Riley discussed his and the other Brotherhood members’ experiences at the Mens’ Conference during the weekend. He also spoke of how we all need to go outside of the church to reach people and bring them to the Lord. Scripture came from Ecclesiastes 9:14-15, Ezekiel 22:26-30 and James 5:16. Hymn was “Take the Name of Jesus With You.” Visitors at HBC Sunday included a couple of people.
Thursday evening, Norma Elliott and Ruth Overby went to the Gideons’ meeting in Roxboro. Norma also visited Mr. and Mrs. George Daniel one day throughout the week. Those visiting Norma throughout the week included Sam Parham and Nell Daniel. Andrew Roberts visited her Sunday morning.
Leslie Overby visited Abraham Tillotson Saturday afternoon.
Mitzie Waller and Ruth Overby attended the benefit for Randy Davis at the Aarons Creek Community Building Saturday.
Saturday, Vicki Overby, Annie Sue Overby, Haley Overby, Barbara Fisher and some other family members had lunch at Panda Inn restaurant in South Boston. Sunday afternoon, Annie Sue and Haley visited Janie Keeton, Tony and Lois Martin, David Martin and Chelsey. Later, the two ladies visited Bear Overby.
Remember the sick, lost and/or unchurched, HBC Youth Members/Leaders and those who have lost loved ones including the Hugh Elliott family, the Gwen Link family and the Phillip Hicks family. Remember our great country, Middle East Situation, people searching for jobs, those on missions and the Missionaries throughout the world as well. Also, remember our troops including Mariah Johns Adkins, Timmy Wilkinson, Jonathon Fisher, Jesse Lee Seamons, Brandon Barksdale and Dan Elliott, BIRTHDAYS: Mackenna Rush, Matthew Newton, Elizabeth Smith, Stacey Reebals, Michael Morris, ANNIVERSARIES: Steven and Chasity Bowen, Melvin and Hollis Bowen.
