Linda Marie Dodd, Shane Patrick Long speak vows
SoVaNow.com / February 05, 2013Linda Marie Dodd and Shane Patrick Long were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Berry Hill Resort in South Boston.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Camilla Dodd of Clarksville, and the groom is the son of Michael and Diana Long of Lititz, Pa.
Linda, who is a graduate of Bluestone High School in Skipwith, earned degrees at the College of William and Mary and Georgetown University. She is currently employed as a registered nurse on the burn unit at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C. Shane is a graduate of Eastern York High School in Wrightsville, Pa. He graduated from Millersville University in Millersville Pa., and earned an M.Ed. at Cabrini College in Ranor, Pa. He is teaching middle school English at SanLee Middle School in Sanford, N.C.
Karen Johnson Selden of Scotsdale, Az., attended the bride as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Brooke Elizabeth Curro of Durham, N.C., Lorie Carlson Clark of Stafford, Laura Ashley Doten of Fredericksburg, Amy Woerner Hite of Nelson, and Jenny Nehme Riddle of Plover, Wis. Gabriel Annika Billett of Lititz, Pa., served as flower girl, while her brothers Charles Micheal Billett and Anthony William Billett served as ring bearers.
Sherick Todd Long of York, Pa., served as Best Man, and the groomsmen were Shannon Troy Long of York, Shawn Michael Long of Lititz, Pa.,, Jared Lee Young of Elizabethtown, Pa., Gregory Robert Dolk of Lititz, Pa., and Lincoln Tyler Hokenbrough of Lititz.
Vicar Michael S. Williams of Front Royal, officiated over the ceremony, which took place on the lawn of the historic Berry Hill mansion. Bagpiper Bruce C. Wright provided the prelude and recessional music. The poem “Entrapment” was read by Rhonda A. Mann, and the special music “I’ve Dreamed of You” was sung by Eileen L. Stewart. An Old Testament reading Genesis 2:18-24 was read by Brian O. Williams. Jocelyn Long and Elias Long read I Corinthians 13:4-8 from the New Testament.
Following the ceremony, wedding guests were served appetizers in the mansion. The reception was held in the Grand Ballroom, beginning with a lovely buffet dinner and continuing with a fun evening of partying.
After a wedding trip to the Tennessee Mountains, the couple made their home in Cary, N.C.
