Hans and Hanne Lassen of Chocowinity, N.C. (formerly of South Boston) are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, May Lassen, to Evan T. Anderson, son of Howard P. Anderson Jr. of Ruther Glen and Margaret “Peg” Anderson of Halifax.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Virginia Sen., Howard P. Anderson and Mildred Anderson of Halifax. Maternal grandparents are the late Bernard Keiser and Ruth Keiser of Fishersville.

The future bride and groom are both graduates of Halifax County High School and the University of Arkansas. Evan is a police officer employed by the City of Fayetteville in Arkansas and May is employed by the University of Arkansas.

A September wedding is planned at the Anderson Farm in Crystal Hill.
