Rev. Sidney Rodriguez, interim pastor at Union Christian Church, delivered the Sunday sermon; Rev. Bobby Whitfield, former pastor, had opening prayer; director of music was Barbara Carnevale; acolytes were Lesley Cole and Amber Tuck; Wayne Bowen was greeter; special music by the choir “Blessed Assurance.” Breakfast will be served February 3 at 9:00 a.m. by Ralph Murray and Wayne Bowen for everyone, all are welcome to attend; women’s fellowship at the home of Hannah Hite on January 29 at 2:00 p.m.; Bible study January 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Elizabeth Compton Pulliam, funeral services were Wednesday, and to the family of Billy Glasscock, age 66, son of the late John Henry and Janie Hatcher Glasscock of Rougemont, NC at the Virgilina Cemetery Sunday afternoon.

The Virgilina Volunteer Fire Department will have a stew Saturday, February 2, ready at noon.

Mrs. John Fletcher was honored for her birthday Sunday with cake and ice cream by her children. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Glasscock, Mr. and Mrs. Casey Tuck, Amber and Dustin, Mrs. Mason Pulliam and John Pulliam; Mrs. Roger Chandler and Rosa Hodges visited Saturday.

Sunday dinner guests of Fannie Mae Tuck were Mrs. Lindy Tuck, Pam Tuck, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Conner and Maci, Jarrad Tuck. Mrs. Tuck visited Mrs. Blanch Francisco Monday and Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Tuck Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Morris are the parents of a new baby boy, Lucas Wyatt.

Visiting Mary L. Murray during the week were Gene Murray, Barbara Loftis, Rhonda Loftis, Doyle Rice, Mrs. Wayne Loftis, Mrs. J.T. Taylor and Willie Shotwell.

Visiting Morine Rice during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Murray, Jason Murray.

Mrs. Mason Pulliam and Catherine Smith attended the funeral for Elizabeth Compton Pulliam Wednesday.

Robert Henry Smith and Brandon visited Catherine Smith Wednesday.

Sunday dinner guests of Catherine Smith were Mrs. Allen Keeton and Beth Martin.

Visiting Hannah Hite during the week were Fannie Mae Tuck, Mrs. Mason Pulliam, Henry Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Glasscock.

Visiting Catherine Smith during the week were Kathy Keeton, Tom Thaxton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, Dorothy Hite, Homer McClure, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Smith and Johnathan.
