South Boston closes books on 2013-14 budget

South Boston Town Council on Monday evening heard Finance Director Erle Scott review the Town’s financial figures on June 30, the end of the Town’s FY2013-14 budget year.

Pastor Norman Talley had Sunday morning services at Union Christian Church; Lottie Sue Nunn was pianist; special music by Mike Johnson; members needing a church tape can call Donna Chandler; the Christmas nuts are now ready for anyone from the church members or members of YUM.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Eunice Irene Walker. Memorial services were held at Union Christian Church November 17 by Pastor Talley. She was the sister of Mrs. Julia Agnes (Johnny) Rice.

Mrs. Catherine Smith visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Conner Thursday.

Mrs. Robert Harris was Wednesday overnight guest of her mother, Mrs. Mary L. Murray.

Happy Birthday to Mason Pulliam. Visiting him were Mrs. Mason Pulliam, John Pulliam, Mr. and Mrs. Casey Tuck, Amber and Dustin, Mrs. Joyce Graham, Frances Gittman.

Visiting Morine Rice during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Murray, Terri Murray, Tyra Murray, Jason Murray and Gregory Murray.

Dinner guests of Fannie Mae Tuck were Pam Tuck, Mr. and Mrs. Jarrad Tuck and family, Mrs. Michael Conner and Maci, Mrs. Lindy Tuck.

Mr. Henry Smith and Brandon visited his mother, Mrs. Catherine Smith Saturday.

Hannah Hite’s visitors were Mrs. Dave Jaloway, Mrs. Catherine Smith, Henry Murray, Mrs. Tony McGregor, Billy Wiles, Wade Wiles, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Slagle, Mrs. Madison Pulliam.

Sunday visitors of Mrs. Catherine Smith were Mrs. Bonnie Williamson, Mrs. Kathy Keeton and Mrs. Peggy Smith, Mrs. Allen Keeton.

Mrs. Mason Pulliam visited Mr. and Mrs. Mike Glasscock Saturday.
