Welcome the 4th with a bang at South Hill Picnic in the Park

Come celebrate Independence Day at the 18th annual Picnic in the Park celebration in South Hill, starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday night and climaxing with the fireworks display by Dominion Fireworks, Inc. starting around 9:15 p.m.

Mayor Earl Horne will lead the official welcoming program at 8 p.m. followed by the Midnight Crossfire Band entertaining through the night. Games are sponsored by the YMCA; there will be food, fun and more. Admission is free.

Senior shuttle service will be provided by LCAAA from the baseball parking lot. Be sure to enter the venue from Raleigh Avenue on the Friday night of the festival.

The celebration is brought to you by the Town of South Hill, the South Hill Community Development Association, South Hill Chamber of Commerce, and the South Hill YMCA. The band is provided by the South Hill Market Square Committee.

Midnight Crossfire features an eight-member band delivering funk, southern rock, country, Motown, and R&B tunes.
