Prosecutors met with representatives of the family of Linwood Raymond Lambert Jr. for nearly four hours on Monday to reveal their decision not to charge any of the South Boston police officers who were involved in Lambert’s death nearly three years ago.

Three years after Linwood Raymond Lambert Jr. died in the custody of South Boston Police, Lambert family members and supporters will rally Wednesday, May 4 at the Halifax Courthouse to demand action against the officers who used Tasers to subdue the late Richmond man.
The rumble of farm machines was heard around town on Saturday as the Heritage Festival Antique Tractor Parade made its way from the old Lowe’s building in Centerville to area shopping centers. The tractor procession serves as a reminder that the Halifax County Heritage & Antique Machine Festival is coming up this weekend, at the Halifax County fairgrounds. The festival will feature exhibits, games, music, food and attractions that include a mud bog competition, the Halifax County High School Cometbots, vintage race cars and horseback riding. Admission is $5 per day for adults and children 12 years old or older. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free.
