Storm brings funnel cloud near South Hill

South Boston News
Stormy weather around the region caused a funnel cloud to develop Saturday afternoon in the Union Level community west of South Hill. This photo was snapped by Scott Mills of Mills Farm Inc. around 4 p.m. on April 23 from his front porch on Skyline Road. Mills said the storm also delivered hail over the area, but the funnel cloud did not cause any apparent damage other than leaves and twigs blown over the road. Meantime, the National Weather Service has posted a flood watch in effect through Monday evening in north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia, southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia. The flood watch area includes Halifax and Charlotte counties.
