UPDATE: Death toll rises to three in Chase City crash

A third person, Bluestone High School teacher Donald McInturf, has died as the result of a head-on auto collision Monday around 5 p.m. on Route 47 near Chase City.

Lake Gaston landscape artist gets P-B exhibition

William Ward Moseley, a well-known local artist for his landscape paintings of Lake Gaston and the surrounding areas, has been recognized for his artwork in several juried competitions on the east coast. This evening the Parsons-Bruce Gallery of South Boston will hold a one-man exhibit for Moseley, with the opening reception scheduled from 6:30-9 p.m. The gallery is located at 217A Main Street and open to the public.

The Halifax Woman's Club and The Halifax Masons invite the public to the dedication of the restored Historic Halifax Masonic Lodge, Sunday, July 19 at 2 p.m. Betty Bane, president of the Woman's Club, will welcome guests and unveil a plaque that will hang in the lodge.
