South Boston hosts budget public hearing

South Boston Town Council meets tonight for its regular monthly meeting and members will hold a public hearing on the Town’s advertised FY 2009-10 budget which calls for no increases in tax taxes or fees.

Halifax tackles budgets, Farmers Foods upgrades

Halifax Town Council meets tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall with two public hearings on the agenda. The first of the public hearings deals with the amended FY2008-09 budget which had to be re-advertised after changes were made to the earlier approved budget.

Break-in investigated

Curtis Crews, of 2118 Leda Road, Nathalie, called the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office to report that sometime during the day of Wednesday, May 6, someone broke into his home by pushing out a window air conditioning unit.
