Rainfall sets off flash floods, closing roads

ABB lays off 29

Twenty-nine hourly employees at ABB received layoff notices on Thursday and Friday of this week, according to South Boston ABB Plant Manager Tom Minnich.

McDonnell reverses closings of rest stops

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell announced yesterday that all of Virginia’s 19 shuttered rest stops and welcome centers will begin reopening starting in mid-February. All facilities will be reopened by April 15.
