Halifax Council gets first look at town budget

When Halifax Town Council holds its regular monthly meeting tomorrow night, April 14 in Town Hall, Councilmen will get their first look at the Town’s draft budget for the coming year. Members will then decide to advertise the budget so it can be approved and funds appropriated at the regular May meeting.

South Boston man arrested for larceny

A 48 year old South Boston man has been arrested and charged with larceny following a report of a theft at First Baptist Church last Tuesday, April 7. South Boston Police officers were called to the church on North Main Street around 10 a.m. and according to Sgt. F. M. Edmunds, the victim said she witnessed the suspect steal her wallet from her purse. When the victim confronted the suspect, he fled from the church on foot.
