Charges filed in Halifax auto accident

On Friday, April 3, at 4:47 p.m. Officer S. M. Comer of the Halifax Police Department responded to the corner of L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway (Route 501) and North Main Street to investigate a two-vehicle collision.

Fugitive charged as result of traffic check

A 36 year old South Boston man was arrested on Sunday, April 5 during a traffic checking detail which was conducted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. John Tyrone Jones of 1144 Fowler Trail had been charged in Richmond and Pittsylvania County on two felony counts of probation and parole violations. Jones was charged by Deputies C. S. Yeatts and Sgt. D. H. Barksdale.
