A new path, built the long way

South Boston NewsSouth Boston News
The newly constructed segment of the Tobacco Heritage Trail between Lawrenceville and Brodnax opened Tuesday with a ribbon cutting event at the Evans Creek trailhead park in Brunswick County. More than 100 well-wishers and trail enthusiasts turned out to celebrate the opening of the new segment, which brings the length of unbroken, off-road trail to about 17 miles. The new portion connects with existing trail leading from La Crosse. An additional on-road portion connects the Tobacco Heritage Trail to South Hill. Two little trail users waited for their ride through the Great Outdoors to get underway. (Lisa Clary photos ) / April 23, 2014
