ACE team tied for second in district
SoVaNow.com / November 26, 2012The Halifax County High School ACE team is tied for second place with William Fleming in district competition following last Monday’s Western Valley District Scholastic Bowl.
George Washington of Danville leads with a grand total of 1,255 points with both Halifax and William Fleming having 1,020 points each. Patrick Henry is in last place with 955 points.
In round one on Monday GW scored 200 points to 175 for Halifax with Patrick Henry scoring 200 to William Fleming’s 175.
In round two, Halifax had 185 points to beat Fleming’s 165 while GW scored 220 to Patrick Henry’s 110. In round three, Patrick Henry bested Halifax County 185 to 130 while GW collected 195 points to Fleming’s 180.
In JV competition, Halifax County ranks first with a total of 635 points with GW second at 565 points and Patrick Henry third with 480 points.
The Halifax JVs won out over GW on Monday 150 to 115 and they then beat Patrick Henry 160 to 110. GW outscored Patrick Henry 190 to 100.
