Arrest made in stabbing

South Boston Police officers were called to the Honey Tree Apartments on Tuesday in response to a stabbing that took place at the apartment complex on Monday, March 17 around 7 p.m.
It is believed that the stabbing took place following a domestic altercation.

According to South Boston Police Capt. B.K. Lovelace, 36 year old Jene Shontae Wimbush of Sutherlin was arrested and charged with one felony count of malicious wounding.

According to a report filed by Officer C. Mann, the victim was transported to Halifax Regional Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for her injuries and released.

Wimbush reportedly left the scene after the victim was injured and was later apprehended in the Riverdale area.

He was taken into custody by Cpl. M. W. Bowen and is being held without bond in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
