Back to the Grind

South Boston News
The 2013-14 school year got off to an earlier-than-usual start as Mecklenburg County students returned to classrooms on Monday. The opening marked a shift from the traditional first day of school after Labor Day. At Clarksville Elementary, county supervisor Andy Hargrove helped to welcome nearly 500 students back to school.

SCHOOL SHOULD NOT START BEFORE LABOR DAY!

Comments

You are correct allpolitical2! I'm not sure why there is a King's Dominion law that prevents schools from starting before Labor Day when clearly it is just ignored. I'm hoping that the DOE will crack down on these school divisions and make sure that the data they submit to obtain a pre-labor day waiver is on the up and up!
