Bargain hunters’ delight in downtown

South Boston News

Shoppers went hunting for bargains in Clarksville over the Mother’s Day weekend as the town hosted the annual Big Lake Flea Market on Saturday. Several local craftsmen offered hand-made decorative items, while members of the Last Train in Clarksville model railroad club sold chances to win hand-carved wooden Christmas decorations of Santa and a snowman to make anywhere a more festive place for the holidays. The event drew a good crowd to Virginia Avenue despite overcast skies and the threat of storms in the afternoon. (Susan Kyte photo)
