BLM rally sought in Chase City for Saturday / June 10, 2020

Natasha Pettus has asked the Town of Chase City to approve a Black Lives Matter rally at the Pavilion on Main Street for Saturday, from 5-7 p.m.

Town Manager Dusty Forbes said he has few details about the event as Pettus only picked up a permit application Tuesday from the town office.

Forbes said he has heard, but could not confirm, that the rally will include members of the local clergy and community leaders. He expects the format to be similar to the event held last week in South Boston, intended to bring attention to the need to stamp out systemic racial discrimination and create a culture of equality.
