Body found near Virgilina
SoVaNow.com / July 15, 2013The body of a 43 year old has been sent to Richmond to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the man’s cause of death.
According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred Clark, Arthur Ernie Sydnor’s body was found around 4:30 p.m. Sunday by a relative who came to check on the man after no one had had contact with him since he talked with a friend on Saturday.
Sydnor’s body was found about 50 feet behind his home near the edge of a wooded area at 1213 White Oak Fork Road in the Virgilina community. Sydnor lived alone, Clark said.
The Sheriff said there were no signs of any type of a wound from shots or stabbings. “We simply don’t know what happened to him and will have to await the medical examiner’s report to determine the cause of death,” Clark said.
Investigator Jeff Burton of the Sheriff’s Department is heading the case after deputies and members of the Virginia State Police responded to the scene on Sunday afternoon. 1444
