Burgess RMA Business Person of Year

Jim Burgess was named the 2013 Business Person of the Year on Monday evening during the annual Retail Merchants banquet held at Four Oaks Restaurant. He was presented with the award by RMA President Mac Ragan.

Jim Burgess was named the 2013 Business Person of the Year on Monday evening during the annual Retail Merchants banquet held at Four Oaks Restaurant. He was presented with the award by RMA President Mac Ragan.

Welcomed into the group were five new members: Tony Bomar of Bridgeview Exxon, Helen and Ron Reiter of Reiter & Reiter PLLC of Halifax and Nookie and Rhonda Green of District Impressions in South Boston.

Elected to serve on the group’s Board of Directors were Mickey Thomas, Lanier Cole, Mac Ragan, Bunny Propst, Jim Burgess, Ramona Bowen and Ed Talbott.

Members heard representatives from Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield —Bill Drummond, Chris Brady and Jim Burgess — who gave a presentation on the Affordable Healthcare Act and how they feel it will affect small businesses.
