Car thefts, gun fire prompt warnings by So Bo police / January 07, 2019
The South Boston Police Department advises the community to be aware of an increase in the number of larcenies from unoccupied and unlocked parked vehicles.

The thefts from unlocked vehicles are occurring in the neighborhoods of Chamberlain Street, Willow Street, Grove Avenue, South Avenue, and Washington Avenue.

Residents are encouraged to lock their vehicles, not to leave valuables in their vehicles, and to call law enforcement if they see suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

South Boston Police have also responded to a number of calls for gun shots being fired in residential areas. The reports of gunshots are in the areas of Vaughan Street, Marshall Avenue, Bane Street, Edmunds Street, North Main Street, Poplar Creek Street, and Sinai Road.

The South Boston Police Department has increased patrol in these areas. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to contact the South Boston Police Department at 434-575-4273 or the Halifax County Crime Line at 434-476-8445.
