Chase City woman, 22, dies in crash

Megan Moore, 22, of Chase City died Thursday night from injuries sustained in a single car crash. She was traveling alone in the vehicle when the crash took place around 9:18 p.m. Thursday.

According to Virginia State Police, Moore was heading south on Route 92 near the intersection with Route 47 when her car veered off the road to the left and struck a tree. She died at the scene.

Speed may have been a factor, but the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to Virginia State Police.

Moore was a graduate of Bluestone High School and studied at Southside Virginia Community College.
