Clinging to spring amid an icy blast

The flowers at the North Main Street Prayer Garden withstood a glaze of ice that fell Sunday, forcing the cancellation of the traditional Palm Sunday procession by South Boston churches in celebration of the Easter season. Icy conditions were forecast throughout last night and this morning as Old Man Winter continues to keep his grip on the early spring season. (David Conner II photos)
