SoVaNow.com / July 09, 2014
A 20 year old Virginia Tech student and intern at Dominion Virginia Power was found dead on a rock near Lake Gaston on Friday, July 4. How he died remains a mystery.

Authorities with the Halifax County, N.C. Sheriff’s Department say that Alexander Hable of Midlothian had been swinging on a rope into Lake Gaston near Littleton, N.C. around 3 p.m., shortly before his lifeless body was found on the rock. Deputies, along with agents with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, are still trying to determine how Hable died.

Hable was a junior majoring in management at Virginia Tech. He was also a member of the school’s lacrosse team and Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) fraternity.

A press release issued by Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said members of the Halifax County EMS and the Littleton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
