Council faces light agenda / April 12, 2010
South Boston Town Council will meet Monday in Council Chambers on Yancey Street at 7 p.m. with a relatively short agenda.

Council is expected to take action on the proposed cable franchise agreement with Comcast which they have been discussing over the past several months after meeting with representatives of the company several times. Legal counsel and staff members are recommending approval of the proposed agreement.

Council is also expected to name Carolyn Nichols to a two year term on the Halifax County Improvement Council to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Vinny Sarnataro. Nichols has been recommended to fill the position by members of the Current Issues Committee.

Finance Committee members are expected to set up a budget workshop. Council members will meet with members of the Halifax County Board of Supervisors and Halifax Town Council members next Monday, April 19 beginning at 6 p.m.
