Council taps Jones as new Clarksville manager

South Boston News
Jeff Jones / March 06, 2013
Following a prolonged search, the Town of Clarksville has hired a new town manager — Jeff Jones, who currently serves as transportation supervisor and procurement officer for the Mecklenburg County school system.

Town Council announced Jones’ hiring at the start of its meeting Tuesday night. He succeeds interim manager Charles Lee, who filled in after the departure of longtime manager Melinda Moran as Mathews County administrator.

Jones starts his new job in mid-April.

Jones, who holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Averett University, lives outside of Clarksville with his wife Carol and two children. He is past president of the Clarksville Ruritan Club and a past president of Clarksville Dixie Youth.

He and wife Carol have two children.
