A wayward pick-up truck caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the front façade of O’Kelly’s Deli and Pastries in Riverdale after crashing into the eatery Thursday evening.

Sharon A. Wells, 47, of Buffalo Junction, was not charged in the crash. Wells was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 when the vehicle pulled into a parking space at the Riverdale Plaza Shopping Center and lurched forward onto the sidewalk, crashing into the deli’s front glass doors.

Wells accidentally hit the gas pedal, said South Boston Police Officer J. DeSantis. Her vehicle sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage. The damage estimate for the restaurant is $10,000 — for where the front entrance was taken out, including the concrete wall, glass and door.

Officer J. DeSantis responded to the call at 8:22 p.m. in the daylight hours Thursday.
