Dollar General donates $10,000 to Sinai Elementary / August 10, 2020
For many years, Sinai Elementary has been the recipient of donations from the Dollar General Distribution Center in South Boston.

On Thursday, Sinai Elementary School Principal Francine Davis was presented with a $10,000 check for school programs by Bill Groshans, director of the Dollar General Distribution Center.

“This donation is much needed during the unprecedented times,” said Davis. “We greatly appreciate the continued community support and partnership with Dollar General.”

The money will be used to support literacy education, social-emotional resources, and other programs at the school.

“It’s a tough time for school workers, and we are especially glad to continue to help the community,” said Groshans. “They are great people at Sinai.”

Dollar General has a longstanding relationship with the Sinai Elementary. Last year, a DG donation was used to offset the cost of field trips and programs to motivate attendance, and funding from the chain supported the Read More program. The staff at the Dollar General center in South Boston is in the process of gathering school supplies to deliver to Sinai Elementary in the coming week.

“Dollar General goes above and beyond their call of duty, and we thank them for supporting Sinai families,” said Davis.
