Douglass to make stop at Molasses Grill
SoVaNow.com / October 04, 2012Fifth District Congressional candidate John Douglass will host a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. at Molasses Grill on Main Street in Halifax.
Douglass, a Democrat who is challenging first-term GOP incumbent Robert Hurt, is hosting a series of Town Hall meeting throughout the Fifth District to discuss what he will do in Congress to help Virginia families “get a fair chance at a better future,” according to the campaign.
Douglass said he has attended more than 300 public events, including dozens of Families Forums that he has held with community representatives. The retired Air Force Brigadier General hails from Fauquier County in the northern reaches of the Fifth District.
CommentsWhile the food at Molasses Grill is great, which I have consumed once, pretty sure that most of the Halifax population would never consider going there, even for a political reason. Seriously do you think that any majority of the Halifax population would even think to walk into the Molasses Grill?

CommentsDouglass may have gone to 300 public events, but at one town hall style event, he actually hit a young man trying to film him! This incident may have unhinged his entire candidacy as he has since then been trailing Hurt by 18% in the polls, and even the President did not have him on stage with him in Charlottesville a week later. CommentsHe hit a guy? Where is the liberal media when this needs to be reported? If Hurt had done this or even a republician challenger, it would have been front page news for months!
