Driver injured in crash
SoVaNow.com / February 28, 2013A 33 year old South Boston woman was involved in a single vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon on U. S Route 501 about one mile south of its intersection with State Route 759 in the Cluster Springs area.
Tiffany S. Royal was the driver of a 2006 Saturn Ion which veered off the right side of the roadway as she swerved to miss a deer and struck an embankment, overturning.
Royal, who was wearing her seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the local emergency room for treatment.
Charges in the accident are pending, according to a report filed by investigating Virginia State Trooper D. T. Spencer, who estimated damages to the Saturn at some $2,500.
