A Dublin man has been charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with recent break-ins in the Hyco area of Halifax County.

Larry James Hoback, 52, was arrested Feb. 14 by officers with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office after deputies and investigators visited a residence on Lowery Road to speak with a subject there. Upon arriving, Deputy C. S. Hudson made contact with an individual who was later identified as Hoback.

Officers established that Hoback had outstanding warrants from Pulaski County for violations of suspended sentences on other charges. He was arrested and taken to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax.

According to Clark, several of the items found by deputies matched stolen items from at least two recent break-ins in the Hyco area as well items stolen in other jurisdictions.

Hoback has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of grand larceny, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession of a firearm by convicted felon, one count of possession of methamphetamine while possessing a firearm and two counts of entering property for the purpose of damaging it. He is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax with no bond.
