SoVaNow.com / July 01, 2013
One person is dead after a two car crash near Clarksville Thursday night.

Virginia State Police responded to Highway 15 South near Mt. Ararat Rd. at 11:00 p.m. Thursday for reports of a head-on collision. According to Trooper J.A. Williamson, a 2004 Grand Marquis driven by 71 year-old Frederick W. Gaston of Clarksville, crossed the center line and collided with a 1993 Geo Prizm driven by 24 year old Lindsey G. Claytor of Charlotte Courthouse.

The impact of the crash forced the Prizm off the right side of the road where it struck the guardrail.

Claytor died at the scene. Her passenger, 28 year old Anthony Irving, as well as Gaston were transported by EMS to area hospitals.

Williams said both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

No charges have been filed at this time while the crash remains under investigation.
